Presenting the Monday Man

Mondays can be tough, so to alleviate the blahs and get your week started off right, I'll be introducing you to a new hot jock at the beginning of every work week. Athlete crushes are a great way to add some interest to the world of sports, even if you'll be more interested in their marital status than their plus/minus rating.

Without further ado, the inaugural Monday Man is, drum roll please...... Andrew Ference, a defenseman for the Boston Bruins. Why does he deserve this great honour? Well, not only is he mighty fine (see exhibit A, below), but he is also an environmental activist who traded his truck for a Prius and hangs with David Suzuki. His carbon-neutral program for the NHL, which he created in 2007, now includes over 500 players who purchase carbon offset credits to counteract the negative environmental impact of all the flying around they do.

Enjoy!

P.S. His team plays the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 2 tonight. I talked about their win in Game 1 in yesterday's post.
